This Privacy Policy explains how DailyFlow ("we", "us", "our") handles information in PooScan: Mac Cleaner ("PooScan" or "the App") for macOS. It applies to the version from the Mac App Store and to any version we distribute directly from our website.
In short: PooScan cleans your Mac locally. Your files, file names, scan results and browsing data never leave your Mac. To understand how the App is used and to improve it, we use Google Firebase Analytics, which collects anonymous usage statistics. The App has no account, no advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. Information We Collect
PooScan does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or any other contact details. In the Mac App Store version, we collect only the following anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase Analytics. The version distributed from our website does not include Firebase and collects nothing.
- Usage events: screens opened, switching between modes, scans and cleanups (with the total size in megabytes, never paths or file names), freeing memory, taps on links, and errors.
- Subscription and purchase events: opening the subscription screen and from where, the plan you pick, purchases, cancellations, restores and purchase errors. For purchases, the product, price and currency are recorded as revenue. Payment details and your Apple ID are never shared with us or with Firebase.
- Device and app information: Mac model, macOS version, App version, language settings and an approximate country or region derived from your IP address.
- A random app instance identifier created by Firebase, so that statistics can be counted per installation. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID or email address, and we do not use the advertising identifier.
We use this information only in aggregated form, to see how many people use PooScan, which features are useful, and where the App needs to improve. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with other data about you.
Firebase Analytics never receives your files, file or folder names, scan results, the contents of your browsers' cookies or site data, or the list of apps running on your Mac.
2. What the App Does on Your Mac
To do its job, PooScan works with information that is processed only on your Mac and is not sent to us or to Firebase:
- Scanning: PooScan looks at the names, locations and sizes of files and folders
in known cache, log and build locations (for example
~/Library/Caches, Xcode DerivedData ornode_modulesfolders) to show you what can be removed. It does not read the contents of your documents. - Cleaning: PooScan deletes only the items you select, and only after you confirm. Deleted items are removed permanently and are not moved to the Trash.
- Cookies and temporary files: when you choose to clean them, PooScan deletes the cookie, site data and temporary files of supported browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi and Yandex Browser). It does not read, copy or transmit their contents. After cleaning, you may be signed out of websites.
- Memory: PooScan reads system memory statistics and the list of running apps with their memory use, and shows them on screen. This information is not saved or sent anywhere.
- Folder access: in the Mac App Store version, macOS asks you to select your home folder so that PooScan can scan it. The App stores a macOS access bookmark for that folder in its local settings so it does not have to ask again. macOS may also ask for access to your Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders, which PooScan uses only to look for old project builds and leftover installers. You can revoke access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
3. Network Connections
The Mac App Store version of PooScan connects to the internet only for two purposes: to send the anonymous usage statistics described in section 1 to Google Firebase, and to communicate with Apple through the StoreKit framework to load subscription prices, process purchases and check whether your subscription is active. Cleaning works without an internet connection; statistics are sent later when your Mac is online. The version from our website makes no network connections of its own.
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
PooScan Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We never receive your payment details, your Apple ID or your name. Apple provides us only with aggregated sales and subscription reports that do not identify you. Apple's handling of your data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
- Google Firebase Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited) processes the anonymous usage statistics on our behalf. Google may process this data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under its standard data protection terms. See Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple processes purchases and subscriptions, as described in section 4.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not give it to anyone else.
6. Data Retention
Usage statistics are kept in Firebase Analytics for a limited period (up to 14 months) and are then deleted automatically; aggregated reports that cannot identify anyone may be kept longer. PooScan's local settings, including the folder access bookmark, stay on your Mac and are removed when you delete the App.
7. Contacting Support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to answer you, and we delete it on request.
8. Our Website
This policy covers the PooScan app. Our website, dailyflow.uk, uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful.
9. Children's Privacy
PooScan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the statistics we collect are anonymous and not linked to your identity, we usually cannot find the data that belongs to a specific person; deleting the App stops all further collection. To make a request or ask a question, write to support@dailyflow.uk. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new features. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above.
